DDB Trainee Gabriela Villalpando Torres wins Fiona and Michael Goodchild Graduate Mentoring Award
Gabriela Villalpando Torres wins award for her work supervising and mentoring undergrad researchers in Bioengineering.
This year's Fiona and Michael Goodchild Graduate Mentoring Award was awarded to DDB Trainee Gabriela Villalpando Torres. The Goodchild Graduate Mentoring Award is given to UCSB graduate students who have dedicated time and resources to mentoring undergraduate students in experimental and investigative research, including supervising undergraduate research projects, motivating research success, and actively championing students and good mentorship practices.
In addition to her work in the Pruitt Lab, Gabby, a 3rd year Mechanical Engineering Student, is involved in SACNAS, the Youth Innovation Program, and Letters to a Pre Scientist, all of which are committed to promoting STEM to underrepresented communities.
